Domestic Violence

Domestic violence refers to the victimization of a person with whom the abuser has or has had an intimate, romantic, or spousal relationship, so far as this article is concerned. The medical literature, however defines domestic violence in other ways as well. Domestic violence includes violence in gay and lesbian relationships and encompasses violence against both men and women.
